MOVIE SYNOPSIS: In a quiet, conservative suburb of Detroit during the 1970s, the five beautiful and enigmatic Lisbon sisters are kept under strict watch by their religious and overprotective parents. Following the youngest sister's unexpected suicide attempt, the girls become the obsession of a group of neighborhood boys who watch them from afar, trying to decode their world. As the parents' restrictions tighten into a virtual imprisonment, the sisters find ways to communicate with the boys through music and secret notes. The film is a haunting, dreamlike meditation on adolescence, memory, and the loss of innocence, narrated by the boys years later as they struggle to understand the tragedy that defined their youth.
