MOVIE SYNOPSIS: "The Day of the Storm" immerses the viewer in the anguish of Macario, a Dominican peasant tormented by the belief that his daughter Lala is a witch. Convinced that she is the cause of the death of several children in his village, Macario takes her to a remote forest with the intention of removing her from the community. In the solitude of the forest, Macario faces a devastating moral dilemma: should he believe in superstitions and act accordingly, or should he trust his fatherly love? The tension escalates with strange manifestations that fuel his doubts, driving Macario to the brink of despair. The film explores the conflict between blind faith and unconditional love in a rural Dominican setting, where ancestral beliefs collide with reality.
