MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Our society has an imposed addiction to fossil fuels. Oleodicta seeks to provide steps and alternatives to free ourselves from this deadly addiction. This is a documentary film, directed and produced by Romeo Marte, that delves into the issues of the costs of electrical energy and the use of fossil fuels; while having the Island of Puerto Rico as its focus. The project seeks to answer the question: Why has electricity become so expensive? And in order to show the reasons for the costs, interviews with electrical engineers, lawyers, economists, technicians, and other experts, are used. Among other things, the film also presents recordings of generating plants, equipment, documents, and study measurements. The project have the goal of showcasing points that increase the cost of electrical service based on inefficiencies. The riddle of the fuel adjustment and power purchase formula is explained. The film follows a linear sequence of events, beginning from the generation, to the transmission and distribution; until reaching the customer's electrical meter.
